The Lanesborough is famous for its innovative series of seasonal afternoon teas. This March, the iconic hotel launches London’s first, exclusive Bridgerton-themed afternoon tea featuring a limited-edition menu that pays homage to the Regency era; a time of high style, of elegant parties, balls, and grand dinners, with a contemporary twist.

Setting the scene, the Bridgerton Afternoon Tea takes place in The Lanesborough’s richly decorated dining room, naturally illuminated during the day by a domed glass roof. A Regency icon, beneath the original skydome there is bas-relief artwork meticulously cast from 250 different mouldings, and Wedgwood china mounted on the walls, evoking a sense of Regency neo-classical grandeur.

The Bridgerton Afternoon Tea Menu

Carefully crafted by The Lanesborough’s Head Pastry Chef, Kevin Miller, the afternoon tea menu pays tribute to the key families in Bridgerton and is composed of a selection of finger sandwiches and brioche sliders, delectable scones, cream and jam, and five signature sweet treats.

Each of the patisserie creations, crafted by head pastry chef Kevin Miller, pays tribute to a key character or family in Bridgerton; from Queen Charlotte and this season’s diamond, Edwina Sharma, to Viscount Anthony and the Bridgerton family, and of course Lady Whistledown herself. Inspired by the original Regency Gin Punch, the Pall Mall cocktail is a refreshing tipple composed of gin and white port, balanced with citrus and subtle sweetness. The delectable concoction is served in an elegant high glass teacup, with a tea strainer filled with dried hibiscus flowers to infuse the drink with a pinkish colour. The finishing touch is a floating lotus flower – the national flower of India and nod to the Sharma family.
