Dita Von Teese feat. Sébastien Tellier – Bird of Prey
Iconic burlesque dancer Dita Von Teese has released her song “Bird of Prey” today. The track appears on her forthcoming self-titled debut album, which has been announced for release on February 16, 2018 via the Parisian label Record Makers. Additionally, Dita has revealed the cover art for the album, which shot in Paris by the artist Camille Vivier.
Dita Von Teese tells Refinery29: “‘Bird of Prey’ is one of the songs from my album with Sébastien Tellier. On New Year’s Eve, fans heard a remixed version during my performance. Stay tuned for more!”
According to Sébastien Tellier, who wrote and composed the music for the album, “‘Bird of Prey’ evokes Dita flying above the world, hunting the tiny men on its surface with her eagle eye.”
The band Mind Gamers, who produced the song, remember: “The live instruments in ‘Bird of Prey’ were recorded in a horse stable next to a river just outside of Sydney while it was raining, a truly magical moment.”
Recorded in Sydney, Los Angeles and Paris, “Dita Von Teese” owes much to the talents of composer Sébastien Tellier, the singing of Dita Von Teese and the art of two instrumentalists – the programmer and keyboard player, John Kirby, famous for his work with Blood Orange, Money Mark and Solange, and Daniel Stricker, the drummer of the Australian group the Midnight Juggernauts- who coproduced the album with Sébastien Tellier, under the name of Mind Gamers.
