1. Η «Αριστερή» Ουρά στον Έλεγχο: Στατιστικά, οι περισσότεροι άνθρωποι είναι δεξιόχειρες και τείνουν να πηγαίνουν στις δεξιές ουρές. Επιλέξτε την τέρμα αριστερή ουρά στον έλεγχο ασφαλείας – συνήθως κινείται πολύ πιο γρήγορα.

2. Το Άδειο Παγούρι: Μην αγοράζετε νερό μετά τον έλεγχο (που κοστίζει 3-4€). Πάρτε μαζί σας ένα άδειο, επαναχρησιμοποιούμενο παγούρι και γεμίστε το στις δωρεάν βρύσες που υπάρχουν πλέον σε όλα τα σύγχρονα αεροδρόμια.

3. Screenshot του Boarding Pass: Μην βασίζεστε στο Wi-Fi του αεροδρομίου ή στα δεδομένα σας. Βγάλτε ένα screenshot το εισιτήριό σας ή αποθηκεύστε το στο digital wallet σας για να το έχετε άμεσα διαθέσιμο, ακόμα και offline.

4. Air Tags στις Αποσκευές: Το απόλυτο must-have του 2026. Με ένα tracker μέσα στη βαλίτσα, ξέρετε πού βρίσκεται η αποσκευή σας πριν καν βγει στον ιμάντα (ή αν έμεινε πίσω).

5. Φωτογραφία του Διαβατηρίου: Στείλτε στον εαυτό σας ένα email με φωτογραφία του διαβατηρίου και των ταξιδιωτικών εγγράφων. Σε περίπτωση απώλειας, αυτό το «κόλπο» θα σας σώσει από ώρες ταλαιπωρίας.

6. Wear Your Luggage: Αν η βαλίτσα σας είναι οριακά πάνω από το βάρος, φορέστε το πιο βαρύ σας μπουφάν ή βάλτε τα πιο βαριά αντικείμενα στις τσέπες σας κατά το check-in. Μετά την πύλη, τα βγάζετε.

7. Offline Google Maps: Πριν προσγειωθείτε, κατεβάστε τον χάρτη της πόλης προορισμού στο Google Maps. Έτσι, θα βρείτε τον δρόμο για το ξενοδοχείο χωρίς να ψάχνετε σήμα ή Wi-Fi.

8. Το Multi-plug trick: Πάρτε μαζί σας ένα μικρό πολύπριζο. Στις θύρες φόρτισης των αεροδρομίων γίνεται «μάχη». Με το πολύπριζο, γίνεστε ο ήρωας της πύλης και φορτίζετε όλες τις συσκευές σας ταυτόχρονα.

9. Night-flight Essentials: Ένα light travel kit (μάσκα ύπνου, ωτοασπίδες, φουσκωτό μαξιλάρι) μπορεί να μετατρέψει μια οικονομική θέση σε… business class εμπειρία ύπνου.

10. Check-in 24 Ώρες Πριν: Μην το αφήνετε για το αεροδρόμιο. Το online check-in σας επιτρέπει να επιλέξετε καλύτερες θέσεις και να πάτε κατευθείαν στον έλεγχο αν έχετε μόνο χειραποσκευή.

Once you can leave the insulated jackets and giant boots behind, your bag will be freed up to host only swimsuits and sunscreen.

2. It’s a suitcase, not your home
Are you absolutely sure you need one more book or a pair of underwear to make you feel comfy? Leave items behind that you could easily buy during traveling.

3. Ziploc Space Bags
When a limited wardrobe is out of question because you cannot let go of your favorite suit, shirt, two-piece, or whichever, grab a Ziploc Space Bag and the vacuum seal will compress your storage space to the minimum.

4. Samples and mini container bottles
Take the free samples you got last time you visited your cosmetic store; plus use mini containers and share your shower gel and shampoo with your partner.

This is not an article with tips for light packing. I could easily write a piece on how to travel with as many as you can, pointing out how important it is to arrive at your destination with lots of clothing options. Once a heavy packer, always a heavy packer…

The truth is that having to travel so often, made me much better at packing , nevertheless I always regret about all the things  I leave behind…

So the following tips focus not on how to achieve the art of light packing but how to feel confident about the sac voyage you just made.

7 essential PACKING TIPS

1. Planning the outfits of a trip is key in wise packing. Try to do it, even if you end up with 12 combos for just two days. This will help you a lot to realize what you really need to take with you.
2. To plan your outfits efficiently, you need to gather some useful information. So start to form in your head the schedule of every day, google the weather conditions and ask about the dress code of the events you are going to attend.
3. Always start by building outfits around pieces you know you’ll be excited to wear.
4. To make a list of all things that are necessary in every journey (cosmetics, medicine, chargers, umbrella etc.) is essential and can save a lot of time. You can start your own here
5. Think twice about the shoes and the coats you are going to put in your suitcase. They take up a lot of space so you have to choose the most flexible ones.
6. Go for pieces that can easily be styled into a number of outfits and look equally chic day and night. Do add a couple of silk tops and scarves, which they will help you to mix and match.  During summer, take a lot of sarongs, sunglasses and jewelry. All these will help you create completely different looks so you won’t feel that you wear the same things all the time.
7. Don’t expect from yourself to come up with a nice outfit plan quickly. It takes time to make the final packing list. Personally, I start keeping notes long ahead my trips. Whenever I feel inspired about it, I add items or outfits, then I edit my list every now and then and end up with The List. In this way, I feel much more ready when the moment of packing comes and I reduce the possibilities to arrive somewhere without something I would like to wear.
