The Alpine Enchantment of Paris: A Winter Tale at Hôtel Plaza Athénée’

Culinary Journey with Chef Jean Imbert

At the helm of this alpine adventure is Chef Jean Imbert, whose culinary mastery promises to transport diners to the snowy peaks of Savoy. The menu is a tribute to the mountains, with Savoyard specialties and the alpine favourite, fondue, taking center stage. Diners can indulge in three tantalizing variations of fondue: the classic, infused with cêpes, or elevated with black truffles. And for a twist of luxury, this year introduces a Champagne fondue, melding indulgence with tradition.

An Intimate Chalet Experience

“Le Chalet du Plaza Athénée” isn’t just about dining; it’s an immersive experience. Up to 20 guests can gather for an exceptional dinner, enveloped in the magical ambiance of La Cour Jardin. The chalet promises an evening of warmth and conviviality, a stark contrast to the frosty Parisian evening outside.

Ice-Skating and Aperitifs Under the Stars

The enchantment spills outside the chalet, where a private ice rink awaits. Here, guests can sip aperitifs and champagne, perhaps even daring to glide on ice under the guidance of a professional instructor. It’s a scene plucked from a winter fairy tale, with the glittering backdrop of Paris adding to the allure.

Alpine Traditions Meet Parisian Elegance

Inside, the chalet resonates with alpine traditions as guests gather around a large table d’hôte. The menu is an homage to mountain cuisine, with various fondue recipes complemented by a selection of charcuterie. And for a sweet finale, pastry chefs Angelo Musa and Elisabeth Hot present their interpretation of the famous Mont Blanc dessert, a fitting end to a gastronomic journey.

The Artistry of Mauviel 1830

Enhancing the chalet’s charm is the collaboration with Mauviel 1830, a brand synonymous with exceptional table art. Their fondue sets, crafted in Normandy, add an element of age-old tradition to the dining experience, blending beautifully with the chalet’s cozy ambiance.

“Le Chalet du Plaza Athénée” is open from Thursday, November 23, 2023, to Saturday, January 20, 2024, from Wednesday to Sunday. The holiday season sees it open daily from December 18, 2023, to January 7, 2024.
