A recent redesign by architect Javier Barba kept the home’s charming stone and stucco exterior, but added fresh modern furnishings and eight spacious bedrooms for a boutique hotel-worthy feel.

Well-appointed outdoor living spaces at Xavier create the atmosphere of a private resort overlooking the Aegean Sea. With a row of chaise longues and sun beds by the infinity pool, there’s plenty of room for everyone to find a sunny spot. Two pergola-covered terraces with built-in sofas and dining tables are perfect for al-fresco lunches in the shade or dinner with sunset views. One terrace also has a bar and barbecue, so you can serve refreshments while grilling local seafood.

Neutral colors and clean lines inside the villa are a fresh, contemporary take on traditional Greek island style. Whitewashed beamed ceilings and light gray tile floors are an understated backdrop for cream-colored sofas, minimalist storage pieces and an intriguing coffee table shaped like a smoothed-over beach pebble. The dining area’s round table and Bertoia chairs are a study in relaxed modern, and the fully equipped kitchen pairs white cabinetry and stainless steel appliances for a bright, up-to-the-minute look.

Whether you’re staying at Xavier with family or friends, you’ll find that the villa’s bedrooms can easily accommodate everyone. Seven of the eight bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms; the eighth has access to a hallway bathroom. There are two bedrooms with double beds and six with two twin beds, which can be converted to king beds. Not only do the bedrooms use tones of linen, taupe and blue for a restful vibe, but several open to the terrace and have ocean views as well.

Your holiday at Xavier begins with a flight to the Mykonos airport, a short drive from the villa, or a ferry ride to the island. The property is just under 1 mile from both Ornos Beach and Agios Ioannis Beach, perfect for strolling, sunbathing or enjoying a drink at an oceanfront taverna. Drive the 2 miles into Mykonos town to re-create your honeymoon over a romantic dinner or to sample the lively nightlife.
