Lorde been keeping things on the down-low for a while now, decamping to the wilderness for inspiration amongst other things, but it appears that the hotly anticipated new album she’s been promising is not too far away.

Replying to fans on Instagram, (who were getting bit shirty about waiting) Lorde said:

“I write a record when I have enough special stories to tell, and it’s all me, every melody every lyric, not some team who start the machine up every eighteen months like clockwork. The record is written, we’re in the production stages now. I’ve worked like a dog for a year making this great thing for you guys”

No we’ve never seen a dog work on an album before, but we guess it’s pretty bloody heart – and it’s sure to be something special as a result of it.

The as yet untitled second album will be the follow-up to the 2013’s ‘Pure Heroine’.
