The first Banyan Tree resort in Europe will be located at Varko, an idyllic and unspoiled coastal area in Western Greece

Varko Bay will be Banyan Tree’s first ultra-luxury resort in Europe, located in the Ionian Region and facing the Islands of Lefkada, Meganisi and Scorpio. Varko in Greece is renowned for its unspoiled scenery and secluded beaches and is only 25 minutes from Aktio International Airport.

The approximately 180,000 sqm of land, including the ridged peninsula, with 1.9 km coastal frontage and sandy beaches will guarantee spectacular panoramic views. Designed by Greek international award-winning architects, the resort will comprise hotel villas, branded residences, a spa and wellness centre as well as a private marina. It is also noteworthy that the stunning design of the resort has been made with the highest respect to nature and the environment.

Wellness at Varko Bay and Banyan Tree’s heritage

Varko Bay will also offer holistic revitalization of both emotion and spirit that will begin with the sensitive enhancement of this striking Mediterranean location. A perfect fit for Banyan Tree’s ultra-luxury brand DNA, which focuses on ‘Embracing the Environment and Empowering People’. Like the tropical and sacred tree from which it got its name, the Banyan Tree Spas offer guests a ‘Sanctuary for the Senses’ – A place for physical, mental and spiritual renewal.

An intuitive art of touch and high standards of dedicated service are the highlights of each Banyan Tree Spa experience. Varko Bay draws on this rich heritage and experience which is blended with local rituals and European values to create a distinct, broad & modern wellness offering for its guests.
