The R&B legend has debuted ‘Deadwood’ – the lead single from her new album ‘Sex & Cigarettes.‘ Due in the coming months, it’s the diva’s first solo body of work in over seven years.

Braxton co-wrote the song with Royce Doherty, Kwame Ogoo, and ‘Love On The Brain’ mastermind Fred Ball, who also produced the track.

Discussing the sonic and lyrical rooting of her new material, the 7-time Grammy winner says it’s “grown” and unapologetic.

Welcome back Toni!

Ever in fine-form, this gorgeous guitar-led offering proves that her tone has lost none of its buttery brilliance. The production serves as a slick, crisp vehicle driving the song’s lyrical agenda and does so dynamically. Marvellous melody and memorable hook too.

In an era where many of her peers are struggling to cater to the youth, it’s great to see Ms.Braxton stick to her tried and true sound and audience. This has Urban A/C hit written all over at it. And deservingly so.
